Gabriele's Bavarian Kitchen Witches

The kitchen witch is an old German custom. The puppet is to depict a good witch who inspires productivity and safety in the kitchen, but also counteracts any ill- will directed to the home. It is considered to be good luck to give a kitchen witch to a friend or family member.

( Witches, they're not just for Halloween anymore !!!)

1)Christine

This witch is completely handmade, from hat to boots , body and clothes. Cloth body and hand painted hands and face.

This lovely old crone is fabulously dressed ! She wears long batiste bloomers, a very comfortable lace under skirt, a matching white blouse . Her skirt is Bavarian Dirndl silk jacquard , enhanced with original Dirndl trim . Her fitted jacket with puff sleeves is made from textured velvet as is her hat. Her cape of see through lace will not keep her warm, but it looks lovely !

Her bamboo broom gets her where ever she wants to go , hopefully to your kitchen ! Doll size (without broom ) app.. 20" ,

This pretty lady wears long , lacy bloomers, Her burgundy and green jaquard skirt is adorned with Bavarian Dirndl ribbons . Her jacket is crushed brown velvet . The sleeves are trimmed with velvet ribbons . To keep her warm on longer flights, she is wrapped in a traditional scarf which has beaded accents .The stylish hat she wears is made from the same material as the skirt , and she has tucked some Pheasant feathers in for an extra touch. Doll size without broom , app. 20 inches

This cute kitchen witch wears lacy long bloomers and a skirt made from traditional Dirndl silk brocade. Trimmed with jaquard lace and ribbon. Her blouse is a matching green silk, also adorned with a brocade ribbon. She wears a midnight blue velvet vest tied up with red metallic cord. Her hat is made from patterned velvet and her footies are being kept warm in black leather boots. Without she is about 20 inches tall. $85.00

4) Ursula

Ursula is a stand up witch !! She looks especially stunning in her ensemble , the skirt made from black taffeta, covered with luxurious black lace and silver and black trim. The jacket of patterned velvet is made in the Bavarian style, back bustle , front lacing and puffed sleeves. To complete the get up, and to keep her sparsely hair covered head warm , she wears a magnificent hat of black lace , silver trim and a taffeta plume with a shiny silver button.. She is about 22" tall . $ 60.00

5) Barbara

Barbara is also a stand up witch !! She would be at home in any kitchen in her earth toned gala dress. The skirt is a crushed silk print in multiple brown tones, the blouse is gold patterned mesmerized cotton. To keep her back nice and toasty, she wears a cape of chocolate brown crushed velvet. She didn't want to be as ostentatious as Ursula with her extravagant hat , so she decided on one that matches her skirt, To reveal her domestic side, she is armed , not only with the standard broom, but also with her own black cauldron. She is about 22" tall. $55.00

6) Victoria the Halloween Witch

Store display or addition at you dinner table at home !!!

Victoria is not your average witch !!

She is entirely hand made . Her body is cloth, and wired all the way down to each finger tip, so she can be posed. Without her lovely hat, she stands about 5'5" tall and wears a size 12 - 14 !! Her face and hands are fabric mache and hand painted. She is dressed quite stylishly in a lacy and beaded ruffled skirt , ruffled white lace blouse and velvet jacket with lots of detail work. The dressy witch needs accessories , so she chose a choker of pink and black brocade with a vintage pendant !!! Her fluffy bloomers just cover the top of her lace up boots.
