This recipe has been in my family for over a century. Each loaf weighs apr. 2 pounds , containing loads of almonds, rum soaked golden Â raisins , citron and orange peel , wrapped into a sweet yeast dough. While still hot it is brushed with lots of butter and smothered with powdered sugar . The sugar soaks up the butter and forms a crust .
